I have never sent a mothers day card to my mom in China, but not this year. Yesterday I did a research for all kinds of mothers day card and then made up this one for my own. I would love to make the flowers motif as most of the others did for next time, I was just so engaged by the photo taken in Kenya, by Federico Veronesi. I tried to carve it out as it was, not too cartoonish, not too wild world. But I do think I had some difficulty to handle this motif for now, animals are hard to carve. (and the balance of black and white could be better.) Anyway, I hope my mom be happy to see this card.
Last year I got two custom stamps went missing by Canada Post(or China Post maybe). I couldn’t re-make them until I finished my moving. I hope this time they will travel safely. The stamp of a smiling girl was a recent one, on the way shipping to my home town QingDao. I love what I have create, because I have put a little bit of my soul in it. For each of the stamp I carved, I can feel it in that way. And I hope people can feel the story behind it, and love my creation.
I am still struggling if I should start my job hunting as a designer in Halifax, but for one thing I am 100% sure- creation is a part of my nature, nothing can stop me from carrying it on.
Just found this in my draft box a year ago, I was engaged playing around with two color print at that time.

Every time when I open my back yard door, the winter is right over there. I think it will be there forever. But in summer time is different, you have to enjoy the green in a hurry, call your friend for BBQ, have a trip to the beach…otherwise it is gone. In winter you don’t have to worry about anything, it’s so quite and slow. Inside the room it is warm enough, nothing to be worry about…
It’s one week before Christmas! I wish I could have done this earlier…I found the little balls in $1 shop and made these colorful planet by simply wrapping and felting the wool around it. It’s soft and light, can be a unique decoration for your tree. I took some photos when I was felting this morning. If you are living in Fredericton, the needle and wool can be found in the Knitting shop in downtown. Have a try!
It has been cold and wet all this week. On Saturday afternoon however, we got some sunshine. I took a walk with my husband in the Clements Dr trail in Fredericton north side, where I enjoy jogging a lot.
