Carloe Liu
Graphic Designer & Stamp Artist
Location: Fredericton NB Canada
Email: carloeliu@gmail.com
My name is Carloe. I was born in Qingdao, China. I studied media and video art in Japan and I have a Masters degree in Fine Arts. Most of my art works are illustrations, interactive movies and installations. I participated in many exhibitions from 2003 to 2006. After graduation, I worked as a graphic designer in the web and GUI industry in Japan for about 3 years.
In the summer of 2008, I moved to Canada with my husband. Although I loved my job and my life in Japan, I decided to start from scratch.
I live in Fredericton, the Capital of New Brunswick, which is a beautiful and peaceful city with lovely art and culture. I have a full time job as a graphic designer. In the weekend I sell stamps at the Farmers' Market, which keeps me quite busy.
I had taught myself stamp making when I lived in Japan. Since moving to Canada, I have had plenty time to develop my carving skills. My stamps are all based on my original design. I have made many custom stamps and I also hosted a monthly stamp making workshop in 2008. I am not satisfied with only making small stamps, I also want to learn more about print making and draw more pictures. I hope in the future that I can draw illustrations for children's books. My current goal is to speak English better and make beautiful design for the clients .

My life map. As you can see, I am just simply moving east.

Just went through these thoughts you wrote. They are most interesting and useful. I like how you put them into a viewpoint.

Interesting read, that was. My wife is Chinese, so we have lovely home cooked Chinese food every night of the week. Im trying to encourage her to add them to this chinese recipes website too, but her english isnt really up to it yet. I’ll subscribe to your site for later reading if you don’t mind!

At the end of the third paragraph, should “quiet busy” be “quite busy”?

If I knew that you lived in Fredericton when I lived in Maine, I would have driven from Bangor to attend your stamp workshop. Sigh! I moved to Connecticut recently.
Best
