Winter is right over there.

Every time when I open my back yard door, the winter is right over there. I think it will be there forever. But in summer time is different, you have to enjoy the green in a hurry, call your friend for BBQ, have a trip to the beach…otherwise it is gone. In winter you don’t have to worry about anything, it’s so quite and slow. Inside the room it is warm enough, nothing to be worry about…

I am going back to China to visit my family in February, I haven’t been back for about 3 years. Hopefully I can find my home. As you know in China things changes so quickly, skyscrapers are growing…I am not confident finding the way home. I am expecting being told “you don’t change at all”, because living in Canada, you won’t getting older, your appearance remain the same for about decades , like vampire…in a good way. And the city itself, remains the same for 100 years, peacefully.

It’s my first post this year. Happy 2012, the year of dragon.

It’s one week before Christmas! I wish I could have done this earlier…I found the little balls in $1 shop and made these colorful planet by simply wrapping and felting the wool around it. It’s soft and light, can be a unique decoration for your tree. I took some photos when I was felting this morning. If you are living in Fredericton, the needle and wool can be found in the Knitting shop in downtown. Have a try!

今日下班回家，看到信箱里有一把陌生的钥匙，带着红色的标志。原来是用来打开旁边一个更大的信箱，里面有个厚厚的大信封，法国来的。啊，anusman的无字书寄到了。赶快回家，趁着有一点亮光拍照。天黑得很快，像《千与千寻》里那样。照片也拍的慌张，只觉得‘凯罗’这两个大字写得，好像被人大声叫名字。需要很小心得从墙角探出头来答应。笔墨的质感，自与之前网路上所见感觉不同。这样干，纤细，随意，又极多变，有各种深浅。天色全黑，待我躲回巢穴细细看来吧。

写得是：我的下酒菜凯罗。哇。

这个兔杯，深得我意。印章也很有趣味。

比预想多出一本小册子，天，这是原稿手订本，太珍贵了吧

真的是他的手稿呢。魂，魂器。半夜里书里会出来什么似的。哇。（应该不应该拍出来给人看，也纠结了半天）马上回豆油：你疯了。

黑色书里是恐怖电影。捂着眼匆匆翻了下，还好没有SC4里那个可怕。也很可怕了，不要梦见！

等吃饱了要仔细看。

Fall color in my neighborhood

It has been cold and wet all this week. On Saturday afternoon however, we got some sunshine. I took a walk with my husband in the Clements Dr trail in Fredericton north side, where I enjoy jogging a lot.

After being away for about 3 weeks I am back to Fredericton Boyce Farmers’ Market, with some of my new stamps.

Well, to talk about the reason why I am so passionate making these leaf stamps, that is because: it’s a homework! As you know I am hosting a stamp carving group in Chinese, we have theme for each month. This month was “leaves”. We pick up the leaves and draw them down, then carve stamps from our drawing. The first image in the post actually was my sample tutorial, although many of the group member are good enough and do not need tutorials at all.

Yesterday I received Claire’s mail. Lots of lovely cards in it! They are all printed by hand carved stamp by Claire herself, part of them are colored by color pencil. I am very impressed!

At the Market

I am really feeling home at the market, that is why I don’t mind get up early in 5:30 every Saturday. My stall is small, sometimes I am even “invisible”. Often someone comes and says, I never see you before. Well, I have been there for nearly 2 years. Most of the time I am so dedicated on carving stamps, I even won’t notice someone is standing in front of me. Next time when you see me, do interrupt!

This is Eva from Spain, she is helping the Green Spring Farm. She is so charming that I couldn’t help to make a stamp for her!

So far I have made lots of stamps for other vendors. This is a recent one for Jessica, who is a new vendor selling oats. I designed the logo, and carve it into a stamp. She is happy with it!

Every time I saw a kid loves drawing and interested about stamp making, I will teach him/her to carve one! It is always fun to share a skill!
